Distributor’s first title due in September by Dominic Sacco
LONDON-BASED Creative Distribution has revealed plans to publish games with its first title, Real Heroes: Firefighter, due out this September. The firm has previously focused on distributing games across Europe, but has been eyeing the publishing market for several months.

The UK games market slipped again this week with the value of the market falling one per cent week-on-week to £15.3 million. However, the number of games sold improved slightly – up one per cent to 695,991.
It’s a tough summer for the games industry, and the figure would surely have been a lot worse if it wasn’t for the launch of Microsoft’s Crackdown 2, which is this week’s Chart-Track All Formats No.1.
The big game out this week is Toy Story 3, which has been backed by some significant TV marketing. However, it is a relatively quiet summer and sales aren’t expected to pick up until August.

Distribution’s new business manager Kevin Young told MCV:

games is something we’ve looked at for some time now, after having provided professional distribution services for 10 years. “We are very proud to announce our first release, Real Heroes: Firefighter. It’s a unique proposition for Wii and is a title that has scored highly by games journalists. “Even though this is our first release, we are confident
we will have a success on our hands. This is shown in our commitment to invest in marketing activity above and below the line.”
Real Heroes: Firefighter was originally released in the US in August 2009. Creative Distribution is handling its UK debut.
The game uses the
Wii’s motion controls to allow players to wield hoses, axes and more to put out fires and save lives. “We chose this title because it’s a very good game, and because of its uniqueness – it is a positive, non-violent
game that will appeal to people of all ages,” added Young. “Creative’s profitability,
