LEIGHROY MARSH AND THE HAIRY PLUG MONSTER A Father’s Day Tale about the Dad who did it!

Like many other parents of young children, local dad Leighroy Marsh had a dream - to become a children’s author. But the difference with Leighroy is that he is the dad who did it!

Not content with just talking about writing a book, Leighroy’s talent, passion, determination and commitment has led to the creation of ‘The Hairy Plug Monster’ (likened to ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘The Cat in the Hat’), the tale of a creature that lives under the bath which he first made up for his youngest daughter Maya when she was just 3.

Now on sale in Waterstones, Amazon and in many independent books stores across Manchester and the North West, ‘The Hairy Plug Monster’ has been a huge hit with the 3,000 or so youngsters who have already been lucky enough to hear it read aloud to them by the author himself.

Leighroy is plugging away (no pun intended!) to promote his first published book by doing readings and signings across the primary schools, libraries and book shops of the North West.

The epitome of today’s modern, hands on dad, Leighroy who lives with his Russian wife Yulia and two young daughters, Arisha and Maya, in Stockport, has thrived on natural creativity all his life. Also a musician, he was the first English man to play live dance music in Belarus!

Indeed Leighroy spent several years living in Russia where unfortunately a record deal didn’t bring him the success he had hoped for. Eventually he and Yulia relocated back to Manchester after she became pregnant with their first child.
