Sheffield’s Gems Hygiene is enjoying increasing online popular- ity, as the number of new visitors to its website jumps by 98% in just one year.


In the 12 months since Gems invested in a website that allows customers to place orders online, the firm has seen a dramatic surge in people logging on for the first time.


Brightwell Dispensers has launched a comprehensive range of new accessories for its BrightLogic dishwash and laundry dosing equipment. The flexible and modular BrightLogic system is ideal for everything from small dishwash and laundry operations to large industrial sites. New accessories in the BrightLogic laundry dosing range include a 10 pump control system, suction and flush manifolds, a 10-channel chemical low level alarm and a chemical suction wand. The laundry dosing system can be programmed for use on any washing machine for up to 20 programmes.


The snoozable chemical low level alarm sounds and shows a red light warning when a container will soon need refilling. This ensures there is always chemical in the drum so that washing machines continue to function properly. The chemical suction wand can be used to feed up to three different dosing systems from one single container, helping to save space.

One of the problems


associated with being a major confectionary manufacturer is dealing with the clean-up of the many constituents of these sweets, including machine-clogging glucose and sugar. Sticky residues on production machinery are


hard to shift and although the company has used many methods over the years to remove them, each is rather tedious and difficult, especially as cooled sugars tend to harden.


Cleaning also causes a significant loss in production, as not only does the machinery have to be shut down for safety reasons, but as cleaning is manual, it takes quite some time to achieve the high standards acceptable before the machines can be started up again.
