With liquid frisket I cover each dot making sure to stay the same size as the pencil markings. Before starting this I made some test to see how the skin colour would be affected by the liquid frisket. I made my test at the far left of the panties (area that will be fully hidden by some black) only to realise that when I remove the mask the skin paint also changes colors. So before applying the liquid mask I spayed the panty area with some clear coat from Createx.
I painted the panties with some black from FW Artists mixed with some sand from Createx. All is free hand making sure to replicate the motif, creases and textures of the fabric while applying very little paint where the fabric is transparent.
Once the mask around the panties was removed I used a calligraphy pen to give some texture to the edges of the panties. If I didn’t do this the edges would’ve have looked fake almost card board looking. I then went on to add the last details to the Malboro patch to complete the painting. After each painting session I always write down how many hours I paint and this is very helpful for future reference. If someone asks you to do a painting and how much you would charge, well at least now you have some examples you can compare with. For this painting I calculate close to 30 hours of work.
