I then used some light brown from Createx reduced with water to start working on the darker areas always making sure to work in very thin layers of paint. I applied a light fog of warm yellow from FW Artists next coming back with dark brown to work on the dark areas. It’s important to keep away from the highlight areas. Notice on the blue tape at the top I penciled (in white) in
a vertical reference point that I want the white highlights to be. It’s important to have these in the exact location or else the girl’s back will look crooked. I come back with a fog of red earth from FW Artists. I use some white on the highlights and then com- plete the skin tone with a fog of sand color from Createx mixed with some warm yellow from FW Artists.
With the back area completed I add some sepia colour to the wrist area because of the very dark shadow. The skin creases within the hand were done with some sand colour from Createx and highlights done with a mixture of the same sand color with some white. The entire hand is done free hand while paying close attention to the smallest of details. This is when a good quality photo be- comes important.
Using two sheets of transparency paper made for printers I printed the panties to the proper scale then used an acetate hot iron to make all the small holes in the panties where skin is visible. I then use a pencil to trace out each hole onto the painting.
