WHAT’S SHOWING?
VB262; VideoBRIDGE v4.5
WHAT DO THEY DO?
The new VB262 card for VideoBRIDGE monitoring probes provides a real-time QAM/8VSB monitoring and alarm solution for RF/cable/terrestrial/PBS opera- tors. The VB262 combined with the VB220 controller suits hybrid networks where IP is a carrier from the head-end to the regional edge-multiplexer/modulator/ transmitter, making it possible to monitor the total broadcast con- tents of a cable transmission sys- tem using a single VB262. The VB262 module can be fitted into a single chassis with the VB120 or the VB220 as controllers, allow- ing monitoring of up to 180 MPTS/SPTS multicasts in addition to the dual RF inputs. One VB262 module is capable of demodulat- ing a multiplex for ETSI TR 101 290 fault detection and alarm generation in the full frequency band. The VideoBRIDGE v4.5 soft- ware release introduces new fault-tracking capabilities and increased alarm filtering capabili- ties in the VBC. The software now also increases the clarity of data presentation for monitoring of large volumes of data in multi- channel installations with more graphical representations of events in time.

WHAT’S SHOWING?
TXS 3453; SMD 989; IRD3000
WHAT DO THEY DO
The new Sencore TXS 3453 real- time transcoding platform deliv- ers multiple channels of transcod- ing in a high-density 1RU chassis. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels. The Sencore SMD 989 DVB-S2 will also be making its European debut at
ANGA. Packaged in a two-chan- nel, 1RU chassis, this platform supports the modulation of two independent DVB-S2 RF transmis- sions. The new IRD3000 line of professional receivers/decoders offers solutions for the distribu- tion of video services for any net- work with targeted applications. The new IRD is designed to sup- port SD applications, allowing operations to leverage their exist- ing SD infrastructures while affording an easy upgrade path to HD for the future, the company says. The IRD3000 supports inputs including a satellite RF or MPEGoIP combined with ASI transport stream, and transport stream outputs are available on ASI and MPEGoIP for distribution to digital networks.
