WHAT’S NEW?

IPTV Remote; E2E TV

WHAT DO THEY DO?

The Ericsson IPTV Remote is a new device for controlling the TV and other media devices through- out the connected home, accord- ing to the company. The device is a single interface for controlling internet video, the TV, both live and on-demand, the PC and the mobile phone in the home. It also provides a second screen for pre- viewing content, exploring pro- gram guides, browsing the web and chatting with friends and family without a distracting win- dow on the TV screen. The Ericsson IPTV Remote is part of Ericsson’s IPTV solution and will be managed and provisioned by

the consumer’s IPTV service provider. The device can also function as a portable TV in a WiFi-enabled home. Ericsson will also introduce Ericsson End-to- Endless Television, E2E TV as its main theme at the event, follow- ing the folding of the former Tandberg Television into the Ericsson brand. E2E TV is described by the company as a new strategic approach that rede- fines the concept of being an ‘end-to-end’ partner by aligning consumer demand, technology enablers and business reality, according to the company. Ericsson’s WatchPoint Content Management System is shortlist- ed in the Best On-Demand Technology for IPTV category at this year’s IPTV World Series Awards.
