At the 2010 IPTV World Forum, set-top box supplier ADB will demonstrate its latest hybrid IPTV innovations. The company supplies digital set-top boxes to pay-TV operators across all televi- sion transmission platforms including IPTV, cable, satellite and terrestrial, consumer electronics manufacturers and distributors of digital set-top boxes and is a leader in the development of hybrid IPTV set-tops that enable the convergence of video from both traditional broadcast and IP delivery networks, having devel- oped its first hybrid device in 2003.

The pack- age is targeted at technically skilled operators and system inte- grators, who are seeking an accessible platform that can be used in pilot projects and also in the first stages of commercial projects. There are five hundred end-user licences included in the package together with documen- tation to help install, configure and run the system. There is also a migration path defined for users, who would later like to switch from Lite to full version and gain extended features, more end-user licences, support and regular upgrades. BeeSmart Lite will be available first to visitors of
IPTV World Forum in London at the BeeSmart stand. Three weeks after the event it will be released for general public and will be accessible for download from the company’s website.

The unit also comes with optional integrated SlingLoaded functionality. The
company will also demonstrate the HDS-400 E hybrid high definition set-top box designed to enable satellite TV opera- tors to combine broadcast HD TV and high-bandwidth two- way services, such as video- on-demand, delivered over the broadband channel.
Finally, Ian Walker, director of sales and marketing, EMEA pay-TV, will speak in the Connected TV conference stream at 12.35 on March 25 on ‘Understanding the Evolving Device Ecosystem’.

Test and measurement specialist Bridge Networks’ VideoBRIDGE v4.5 software release introduces new fault-tracking capabilities and increased alarm filtering capabili- ties in the VBC. The VideoBRIDGE software now increases the clarity of data presentation for monitor- ing of large volumes of data in multichannel installations with more graphical representations of events in time, according to Bridge.
