Kopin® new CyberDisplay®
has begun further volume production of its VGA LVS and WVGA LVS dis-
plays for broad commercial sale. With tiny 3.75 x 11.25-um color dots, the full-color VGA (640 x 480 resolution) and WVGA (864 x 480 resolution) dis- plays are 0.35“ and 0.44“ diagonal, respectively. Kopin‘s new displays are about 40% smaller than its existing displays of the same resolution, yet exhibit more vibrant color and consume less power. Ship- ments of the CyberDisplay VGA LVS displays are already underway for Samsung Electronics‘s brand new NX10 hybrid DSLR-style camera and Vuzix Corporation‘s Wrap 920 3D video eyewear.

Wave Infrared (LWIR) lens assembly designed for uncooled infrared sensors. These lenses are designed as the primary optics for thermal imagers in a wide variety of applications including homeland securi- ty, firefighting, predictive maintenance and driver’s vision enhancement systems in automobiles. These thermal imaging markets have a combined current estimated value of over $2.5 billion. This new lens assembly integrates LightPath’s Black Diamond™ molded chalcogenide infrared lenses that are a lower cost substitute for high volume diamond-turned Germanium and Zinc Selenide optics. The opto- mechanical design combined with the unique ma- terial properties of Black Diamond glasses provide athermalization for temperature stability from -40° C to 85° C (-40° Fahrenheit to 185° Fahrenheit) without adding additional cost. This specific design gives a 60 degree field-of-view and when paired with a 15 mm sensor with a 25 micron pixel pitch.
