Terminology - Door Hardware
The door sash which opens first on a French
Door.Master Door
The door sash which opens second on a
French Door.Slave Door
Used on patio doors. A profile or rubber Door Stop
component which is fitted to door to act as a
buffer and prevent the handle from hitting the
interlock when the door is sliding.
A component fitted to doors and windows
which limits the sash opening. These can be
released / removed to allow full opening of the Restrictor
sash.
Used on fire exit doors. A component which is
mounted across the width of the door sash and
is operated by a person pushing against the
bar to release the door locks and enable a Panic Bar
quick exit from the building.
