The opening element of a window that can
be hinged horizontally or vertically.Casement
Inward opening window, the opening
element has two functions.
A: The sash, hinged at the bottom, tilts Tilt & Turn
inwards providing ventilation at the head.
B: The sash, hinged on the side opens
inwards (i.e like a door) giving access as
means of fire escape or for cleaning.

A Horizontal sliding sash door which has Tilt Slide
specialised mechanism to enable the sash
to tilt inwards for ventilation purposes.
An outward opening window, the opening
element swings upon the hinge axis and
rotates outside of the frame, thus bring the
Reversible / Topswing outside pane of glass to the inside. This enables the glass to be cleaned without
Window having to lean out of the window. Commonly used in high rise buildings.
