n this issue you will find no

piece on the America’s Cup.
Why, simple, every time we CONTENTS:
write that a DECISION has been
reached it is overturned by another
bout of legal wrangling. So it has left
a bad taste in our mouth. In our racing
coverage we have therefore written
about sailors who go sailing not egos
who go legal. Hope that is OK!
We have a reasonably broad tapestry of
items to entertain you this month. We look
at Outremer with a boatyard spotlight and
a feature on the Outremer Cup. Whilst in
the Med we cover the first event of the very
competitive 2009 iShares Cup which was
from Venice – hi tech met history – well done
to circuit organisers for pulling that off.
We have a great piece from Paul Larsen on
Vestas SailRocket’s frustrating latest record
attempt. This is a superb team effort led
by Paul and his partner Helena Darvelid.
The two of them have worked tirelessly for
years to pull this project together on next to
nothing. They are both very talented sailors
and have put their sailing careers to one side
in the quest for the world speed record. They
are one flat water, 22knot+ wind away from
the world record. Will that day come – only
