1 Phase 2 Letter Fans
Phase 2 recommends using fans for teaching
the first 9 letters. Ideal for recall activities and
for reinforcing recognition of letters and
sounds. Consisting of 3 fans for the phase, the
first includes the letters from sets 1 and 2.
Second includes letters from sets 3 and 4 and
the third features all the letters from set 5.
With 6 sets of each fan included, this pack is
ideal for small group activities. (18 fans in
total).

Captions & Pictures 2 Phase 2 - Reading Captions & Pictures
Increase children’s confidence by enabling
them to use their decoding skills on simple
material. A set of 35, A5 illustrated cards with
accompanying phrases on separate strips.
Taken from the bank of suggested captions for
reading, the word strips all include set 1-4 and
set 1-5 words e.g. – `pat a dog’.

3 Phase 3 – Grapheme
Flashcards
A set of 18, A5 sized illustrated flashcards and
accompanying word strips featuring the
graphemes to be learnt in phase 3. The cards
are double sided with a grapheme on one side
and an illustration consisting of a grapheme
on the reverse. The words are from the phase
3 suggested bank and can be used in a
number of activities including, `What’s in the
Box?’, `recognition for reading’ as well as for
introducing graphemes.
