Amy Weintraub Leads Healing Program
Naples 841-6611 Ft Myers 936-4199
at Joyful Yoga
A
my Weintraub, internationally known yoga leader and
founder/director of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute,
leads an empowering yoga program from noon to 6 p.m., Feb-
ruary 7, at Joyful Yoga, 24821 South Tamiami Trail, in Bonita
Springs. LifeForce Yoga: From Blues to Bliss provides an evi-
dence-based practice for mood management.
The LifeForce Yoga protocol developed by Weintraub, au-
thor of Yoga for Depression, was used in a study published last
year in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy. Participants
reported a 64 percent decrease in total mood disturbance.
“Neurobiologists are now saying that our reactions to life
Amy Weintraub
are patterned by our earliest, preverbal experiences,” advises
Weintraub, who says the forgotten emotions that accompanied
those experiences can be stored in our bodies for years. “In this program,” she con-
tinues, “participants learn yogic strategies, not taught in regular yoga classes, that can
help alleviate depression and anxiety, as well as methods to safely release chronically
held tension and repressed emotion in the physical and emotional body.”
Cost for the class, which earns Yoga Alliance continuing education units, is $115
if pre-registered by February 1, or $125 at the door. For more information and to
register, call 239-947-9845 or visit
JoyfulYoga.com. See ad, page 44.
