interested in becoming certified teachers or wanting to
deepen their understanding of the work. The innovative
methodology is not only exercise, but therapeutic move-
ment to help reorganize, regenerate and heal the body
from within; it combines yoga, T’ai chi, Qigong, martial
arts and energy work. Classes in stool work Gyrokinesis
are scheduled for March 6-8 and 13-15. Instruction in
machine work Gyrotonic is slated for April 24-26 and
May 1-3.
Both the stool and machine work are designed to create through circular move-
ment, mobilization in the spine and joints, stretching the musculature and strengthen
the circulatory system by helping to reduce restrictions throughout the body. “Gy-
rotonic enhances coordination, endurance and an awareness from within,” advises
Kaplovitz. “This technique is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.”
