and burning if exposed to high heat and fl ame. But there is no insulating layer so the wearer is not protected from sus- tained exposure to high temperatures. This suit is actually designed to be washed and dried multiple times for reuse if it has not been contaminated. But the manufacturer’s recommenda- tions should be followed to be sure the suit is adequately maintained. Wearer comfort is enhanced by a unique cooling capability. The outer shell is engineered to absorb water without affecting the protective performance of the suit’s fab- ric. When wetting the suit down with water before or during use, the wearer experiences a cooling effect similar to the effectiveness of perspiring, as the water evaporates from the outer shell. The suit is form-fi tting to allow for mobility even in confi ned space opera- tions. It is a one-piece design with in- tegrated CBRN booties and gloves. A rubber-to-rubber SCBA mask interface eliminates the necessity of chemical tape.

LION ERS Suit

LION offers the “ERS,” an extended re- sponse suit of a selectively permeable fabric that is liquid-proof, air permeable, and breathable. It is a one-piece coverall with attached Gore® glove liners and booties, and no taping is required. It is compliant with the NFPA 1994, Class 3 standard and has a long shelf life if not contaminated. Its construction is non- carbon based. An airtight zipper keeps both liquid and vapors out.

The LION “Commando Stretch Gar- ment” features a fi ve-piece design for mobility and comfort, and integrates with outer garments for ‘warm’ zone operations. It is low-profi le for discrete operations and is available in a range of sizes. Its design has a sleeve dam added to the barrier glove, socks with a knit cuff to hold the bootie in position, a back zip, and a neck dam to restrict ingress of contaminants.

LION’s “CBRN MT94” is a multi-

wear, multi-threat CBRN garment meeting NFPA 1994/Class 2 and NFPA 1992. It guards against exposure to dan- gers from hazardous waste, drug labs, and biological agents. It is available in navy or tan and is re-useable for mul-

tiple wears and washings if not exposed to contaminants. The suit features a rugged construction, but with optimum comfort and freedom of movement. NOMEX material is incorporated in the laminate to provide resistance to cuts, tears, or punctures.
