FOCUS Streamlight TLR-6 for Glock 42/43

Then remove the three mounting screws that hold the two halves of the TLR-6 together. The TLR-6 has three main parts: the right and left molded polymer housings and the main LED/laser module. Place the left housing on a work surface, and place the LED/laser module in the correct nesting location on the housing. Then place the front of the trigger guard into the matching groove in the housing. Align the right side housing over both the trigger guard and the left housing, and set it in place. The large left and right switches on the LED/laser module help keep every- thing aligned. Fasten the two housings together with the three mounting screws, install the batteries, and snap the metal bat- tery door closed.

The TLR-6 has an ambidextrous switch for both momentary and constant white light. The same switch allows the officer to select LED-Only, LED with Laser, or Laser-Only.

Ambidextrous Switch The TLR-6 uses a low-profi le, ambidextrous switch. This one switch provides momentary or continuous light. It also is the way to select or program the light-laser combination. A tap on either side of the slightly recessed switch turns the TLR-6 On or Off. A press and hold with either side of the switch allows momentary activation.

With the TLR-6 in the On position, press both switches at the same time to cycle through the three modes: LED-Only, Laser-Only, and LED with laser. The TLR-6 will save the se- lected mode when it is turned Off, and turn On in that mode until the mode is changed. The TLR-6 will automatically shut off after 10 minutes of continuous use to save the batteries. Of course, it can immediately be turned back on. The 100-lumen output is certainly less than many handheld and weapon- mounted LED lights. However, it was just a few years ago that 70 lumens was con- sidered a “tactical” amount of light. The 100-lumen output with a beam reach of nearly 100 yards seems enough for these two sub-compact, off-duty, or back-up Glocks.

Streamlight recommends the TLR-6

to be activated only with the non-trigger hand. Using a two-hand grip, we could easily activate the switches on either side with the thumb and forefi nger of the non- shooting hand. The TLR-6 is a perfect companion for the popular Glock 42 and 43. The MSRP for the TLR-6 is $175.
