NCGA/CIF Boys Championship Corral de Tierra | May 23


Bellarmine College Preparatory of San Jose became the first back-to-back NorCal champions since St. Francis of Mountain View (2003-2004), shooting a team score of 5-over 365 to run away with the title. The Bells, who also won the championship in


2005, were led by a pair of 2-under 70’s by Boots Del Biaggio and defending Individual champ Eddy Lai. Other Bellarmine scores (best 5-out-of-6) were Austin Murphy (73), Curt Lloyd (73), Berk Harvey (77) and Kolbey Moreno (81). De La Salle of Concord finished second at 376. The Individual title was captured by Ryan


Burnett of Campolindo (Moraga) with a medalist- earning 68. Joshua McCarthy of De La Salle and Chris Ebster of Gregori (Modesto) tied for second at 69.

CIF Boys’ State Championship San Gabriel | June 1


Torrey Pines ended what was a brief drought by winning


a record third overall title. The Falcons shot 3-over 358, defeating two-time


defending champion Westlake by two shots. It was the first title for Torrey Pines, who also won the inaugural title in 2004, since 2011. The best NorCal team finish came from Bellarmine


College Preparatory, who placed fourth at 372. The Individual title went to Hidetoshi Yoshihara of Wood-


bridge (Irvine) with a score of 65. The low NorCal indi- vidual was Lodi’s Brad Reeves, who shot 70.
