GOP candidate vows unyielding support for Trump in Senate race to succeed Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell.

to replace him in the U.S. Senate are just flat wrong. “I’m my own man,” said an ani-


mated Cameron when asked about his well-documented ties to the longest- serving Senate Republican, who is stepping down after next year. Unlike McConnell, who helped Democrats stonewall some of Presi- dent Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks earlier this year and remains a thorn in his side on numerous issues, Cam- eron insisted that wouldn’t have hap- pened with him in office. “You know, when it comes to [McConnell’s] votes, I would have voted for Tulsi Gabbard,” said Camer- on. “I would have voted for Pete Hegs- eth. I would have voted for RFK Jr. “I’ve demonstrated my own track


record, whether it was having the opportunity to speak on behalf of President Trump at the 2020 Repub- lican National Convention [or] as the attorney general of Kentucky, where I was making my own decisions,” he explained. One of those decisions drew


national headlines when Cameron, who has a long history of supporting police, dealt with the officer-involved shooting death of a Louisville woman, Breonna Taylor. Cameron withstood withering
