and grandchildren, imparting usable skills they can put to work to rebuild the Trump economy that Biden and his ilk have so successfully destroyed. (“Biden Is Coming for Our Gas Cars,” June) meredis artellion Minneapolis, Minn.

SHROUDED IN MYSTERY Even with all the research on the Shroud of Turin, I do not believe it was used on Jesus. I’d rather believe what the Bible says in John 20:4-7 when Peter went into the tomb. “He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separated from the linen.” (“The Real Face of Jesus,” April) vernon eikenberry Franklin, Tenn.

REPARATIONS JUSTICE Just as Newsmax gave TV time to the congressman who supports reparations to the Black community by California, Newsmax should also report that if one group is due reparations, then other nationalities might be considered as well. As examples, the Irish who were sold and enslaved in America during its revolutionary days and the Chinese forced to build the railroads

facilitating our westward movement. (“Reforms, Not Reparations,” May) roger yanko Alafaya, Fla.

Why not reparations for Native Americans? If any group of people is entitled, it is them. As the only true Americans, many were killed by those not native to this continent. Others were herded up like animals and marched to the Everglades in Florida. Some died from starvation and sickness. Others were put on reservations and sent to places that no one would want to go to. There are many still there living under conditions that human beings should not have to endure.

DESANTIS OR PENCE Years ago, a political science professor once told our class that Americans will cast votes for stability before they vote for anything else. Both Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence are solid family men who believe in freedom without much in the way of fanfare or drama. As a Donald Trump supporter in 2016 and 2020, it pains me to say we must move on and go with either DeSantis or Pence. (“America in Decline,” June) evan calbourt Indianapolis Ind.
