Newsmax.com National Emergency AMERICA’S HEALTHCARE CRISIS
BAD MEDICINE, BAD FOOD, BAD POLICY Congratulations on shining a spotlight on America’s healthcare system. It is a disgrace (“National Emergency,” December). Why is it that the wealthiest, smartest country on the planet can’t figure out how to fix it? I’ll tell you why — too many entrenched interests are making a fortune out of our misfortune, including greedy drug companies; a chaotic insurance system
that is deliberately so dense nobody really understands how it works; corrupt regulators in Washington who are supposed to be looking after our interests but are really only looking out for themselves; and food manufacturing goliaths who churn out addictive, ultra-processed foods that make us sick because our bodies cannot process them. We now have a once-in-a- lifetime chance to do something about this with Donald Trump returning to the White House. Please, Mr. President-elect: Don’t waste this opportunity!

Healthcare expert Sally Pipes observed that Donald Trump’s second term promises a return to health policy that promotes choice, competition, and affordability. He has a chance to put his business acumen to work. You quote Dr. David Brownstein calling for a “Manhattan Project where the greatest minds would come together” to find what and where things went wrong, and what must be done. Real healthcare reform means dropping partisanship and embracing free markets. lester phillips South Bend, Ind.
VOTING RIGHTS It amazes me that some states allow illegal immigrants to vote. I’ve lived in this wonderful country legally for almost 40 years with a green card. I can’t vote, but love Donald Trump and what he wants to do for America. I do my part. I wear my T-shirt, my hat, and a jacket I

designed just for me to be a walking billboard of support. There are almost 13 million legal resident aliens who, like me, can’t vote or choose our next president. I’m proud to love the United States and support my next president loudly and proudly! (“Migrants Changing America,” November)

CHINA THREAT China’s President Xi Jinping should remember the words of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” (“The Coming War With China,” November) erik schot

LOST CAUSE Vice President-elect JD Vance’s recent comments on the “enemy
within” are right. The Democratic Party has lost its identity as a constitutional republic party. The media are no longer about journalism; they’re all about propaganda, doing the left’s bidding. (“Divisive, Extreme, and Intolerant,” December) esteban jimenez Gulf Breeze, Fla.
BAD CHOICE How could Kamala Harris have gone on vacation to Hawaii if her campaign is $20 million in debt? Shouldn’t she pay that money back before heading to the beach? (“Deficit Debacle,” December)

GOVERNMENT TOO BIG People are oblivious to the fact this country is broke, and that we are paying $1 trillion just in interest on the national debt. They go on about their lives and stay busy without thinking about what’s going on. When they see and touch results, to buy groceries or fill up their gas tank, maybe they’ll feel the difference. Right now, they don’t understand that big government costs way too much. The many are oblivious to the obvious. (“Deficit Debacle,” December)

SHOWSTOPPER Regarding your “Best TV Shows of the 21st Century — So Far” (November), I can’t believe that after 14 seasons, the absolute best law enforcement program, Blue Bloods, was not included. It’s curious how that show was never awarded an Emmy. Of course, a lot of the programming was during the “defund the police” era and never even considered for an award by the far-left Academy. Blue Bloods was accurate in its portrayal of daily law enforcement. It also included family relationships and stressed
