Newsmax TV N

ewsmax tv enters the new year with its highest ratings in history — after beating CNN and other key

competitors in the aftermath of the presidential election. Newsmax is now a top 12 cable net-

work in the key viewing hours between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Its audiences in the age group

between 35 and 64 grew by double- digits year over year. Monthly total viewer reach was up

51% year over year in November. In early December, Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight handily led Erin Burnett OutFront at the 7 p.m. ET hour, taking a significant 5% lead with 509,000 viewers per minute to CNN’s 484,000. Schmitt’s ratings were so strong that

he continued to lead over CNN program- ming for the full day, including the flagship Anderson Cooper 360. Ratings for Finnerty

at 8 p.m. ET were high- er than two other CNN prime-time shows. In the days lead-

ing up to Thanksgiv- ing, Schmitt also beat CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront and led all CNN programming for both full days as Newsmax beat Fox Business, CNBC, and NewsNation combined in total prime-time viewers by 56%. The Newsmax numbers are especially impressive considering CNN is available in about 7 million more homes.

In June, a Reuters Institute sur-

vey found Newsmax was among the top 12 U.S. news brands, along with major networks CNN, Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS. A recent Pew Research study said Newsmax was one of the go-to sourc- es for Americans during the 2024 election.
