MERTHYR COMEDY FESTIVAL MILKY PEAKS

This comedy drama whisks you to the small Snowdonia community of Milky Peaks, as it receives a nomination for ‘best British town’. Within this benign premise, though, dark forces percolate, and it’s up to a few locals to ward them off. Speaking of dark forces, Milky Peaks is opening two years late – back in arch , they were putting the finishing touches to this production when an onrushing pandemic bolted Theatr Clwyd’s doors shut, but are now back in rehearsals as pictured here…

Theatr Clwyd, Mold, Fri 1-Fri 22 Apr; touring Wales from Mon 25 Apr-Sat 21 May Tickets: from £10. theatrclwyd.com

“Three days, eight shows, 18 comedians,” in the words of the organisers, and even if this is stretching the definition of a festival’ somewhat we can surely all get over it in the interest of appreciating the simple pleasure of some quality comedic fun in various erthyr Tydfil hotspots. There’s a riday night head- line show by TV’s Laura Le pictured, a Sunday closer by the pseudonymous arcel Lucont and some Welsh language standup, kid-friendly standup and a bit of theatre wedged in between.

Various venues, Merthyr Tydfil, Thurs 21-Sat 23 Apr.
