Art College. When she went for the interview to get on the course, she experienced what she describes as a ‘sliding doors’ moment. “I went to meet with the course lecturer, but he was ill that day and

there was another tutor in his place covering for him,” said Trudie. “After viewing my portfolio, he told me that he wouldn’t off er me a place on the general art and design course, at which point my heart plummeted. But he had a better plan for me - he was actually the Head of Graphic Design and would off er me a place on this course if I wanted it. I had never heard of graphic design before but the more I found out about it, the more I loved it. As soon as I saw all the work on the walls, it was love at fi rst sight. I enrolled on his course discovering graphic design at the age of 18, and have never looked back.” Trudie now feels that graphic design was her vocation and, after

working as a graphic designer for 25 years, she feels she has never worked a day in her life because she loves what she does so much. “I’m so lucky to do a job that I absolutely love!” she said. “Over

the years, I have worked with big brands like Virgin Holidays and Coca Cola and I have also worked with coaches, cleaners, climbers and croupiers. I have designed logos, websites, banners, fl yers, brochures and even a board game once, but my passion, the thing that fi lls me up, is working with start-ups. I love helping business owners fi nd their brand, the one that is true to them, and then see them get their business up and fl ying and watching them soar.” Now Trudie wants to work with more businesses

in the area and help them to create brands and logos so she can watch them succeed and grow. “My superpower is that I really listen to what

the client wants – even when they don’t know what they want,” explained Trudie. “I get to know every person I work with and

create a logo that really captures the essence of who they are, what the business is, and the people that they serve. Chances are they don’t have the fi rst clue about branding. But that is OK, because I do, and I make it easy and an enjoyable process for them.”

Trudie is now off ering clients gold, silver and

bronze packages to make the logo creation journey even easier. Each package features a four-step process:

- Step one. Exploration call: would-be clients book a 30 to 45-minute exploration call on Zoom where Trudie gets to know their business and digs deep. - Step two. Concept creation: Trudie unleashes her creative juices and creates the logo concepts based on the discussion and sends these over for consideration. - Step three. Feedback: once the client has had a good look at the concepts and gathered some feedback from people they trust, they discuss with Trudie and she makes any tweaks required. T e concept may be perfect fi rst time, or it may go back and forth a couple of times until it is perfect. - Step four. Artwork delivered: clients receive all the artwork for their new logo, including all high-res images for use on websites, print and social media.

T ey will also receive brand guidelines, detailing their brand colour palette, and any other additional fi les depending on their package, which can vary from email signatures to social media headers.

“I believe it is my mission to change the world

one logo at a time,” said Trudie. “Now I can do this in a variety of ways. I can

inspire and teach people to do it themselves through the online logo design course or do it for them through a simple process and a package in line with wants, needs and budget. “I want to help to create more amazing logos and brands and watch businesses really take off and fl y.”
