Welcome to The Inspiration Behind Great Television, a special supplement celebrating some of the best British television of recent times. Throughout this supplement, we’ve asked the


winners of our 2020 Televisual Bulldog Awards what makes their shows stand out from the crowd. The supplement itself is born from the need to


celebrate those winners in a year when it became impossible to do so in person. Every year, for the past 16 years, we have asked our readers to vote for the TV shows and production


companies they rated most highly in our annual Televisual Bulldog Awards. After the votes are counted, in


any normal year, Televisual would then gather the winners of that vote and hold a celebratory dinner for them in July at the Hotel Cafe Royal - an evening typified by a lack of long speeches and a dearth of disappointment as only the winners of each category
