Fire Safety Engineering Consultant Required
Affinity Fire Engineering is a specialised consultancy firm servicing a diverse range of clients and sectors throughout the UK and Australia. We are expanding our team in London and looking for proactive fire engineers to help us develop and grow. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fast-evolving team and make a difference at a key stage in our development.
Key Requirements
• A degree in Fire Engineering, or equivalent Engineering discipline. • Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a Fire Safety Engineering team. • IFE Membership (MIFireE or AIFireE) • Pro-active and enthusiastic • The role will be based at our offices in Farringdon, central London.
Core Functions
• A basic working knowledge of ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991 and BB100. • The ability to review architectural drawings to determine potential fire strategy approval risks and opportunities for value add.
• Development with support of fire engineered justifications. • Solve, with support, fire engineering calculations including radiant heat, smoke control and occupant evacuation.
• Produce with guidance fire strategy reports and other relevant documentation • Communicate the intended fire strategy to the design team and client through phone calls, emails and meetings as appropriate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Team player who is willing to support and share knowledge with colleagues in the office.

We currently have vacancies for fire safety engineers and experienced fire safety professionals or persons with a background in building control to join the existing consultancy team.
Fire Safety Engineering Consultant The successful applicant should have:
• A degree in Fire Engineering. • A minimum of three years fire safety engineering experience. • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Excellent communication skills. • Knowledge of relevant building codes and British Standards. • Knowledge and experience of developing CFD models.
The work will involve developing fire strategies for corporate clients, providing general fire safety advice, including advising on projects in existing buildings and new build schemes as well as completing fire risk assessments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fire engineer who wishes to develop their skills and experience by undertaking a varied range of work for our broad client base. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A company car is provided. This is a home based role with travel required.
Fire Safety Consultant The successful applicant is likely to have:
• At least eight years continuous recent experience in fire safety with a fire authority, possibly at supervisory level or equivalent experience in building control
• Excellent communication skills. • Knowledge of relevant building codes and British Standards. • Knowledge of fire engineering principles.
Much of the work will involve carrying out fire risk assessments for corporate clients throughout the UK, as well as providing general fire safety advice, including advising on projects in existing buildings and new build schemes. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A company car is provided.
