All about the sample B

rooks Life Sciences partners with scientists and clinicians all over the world to develop the sample man-

agement solutions aligned with its work- flows. It is these solutions that help researchers discover, test and bring forth new medicines and therapies. With smarter sample solutions through-

out the sample management lifecycle; Collection, Processing, Analysis, Storage & Transport Brooks Life Sciences offer indus- try leading services and products. Brooks Life Sciences combines this range

of services and products to be customised for a wide range of applications, including: l Basic research & drug discovery l Compound management l Preclinical research l Clinical trial management l Cell & gene therapy l Molecular diagnostics – biomarkers l Biobanking & biorepositories l Direct to consumer genomics/genetics

With a global team of experts to cus-

tomise and implement these sample man- agement solutions, Brooks Life Sciences is all about the sample. In 2011 Brooks Automation acquired RTS

Life Sciences, an automated sample storage company based in Manchester, UK. This started what we now know as ‘Brooks Life Sciences’. Following this, further acquisitions were made across the globe including Nexus Biosystems Inc (including REMP), Matrical, BioCision®/Cool Lab® LLC, FluidX®, BioStorage Technologies, Inc, BioSpeciman, Pacific Bio-Material Management Inc, FreezerPro®/ BiobankPro®, 4titude® Ltd and more recently Genewiz®. This series of acquisitions has positioned

Brooks Life Sciences as a leading supplier of sample management solutions that are capable of scaling to fully-automated plat- forms or catering to the specific needs of benchtop researchers. These solutions include several product/service groups: l Automated Storage Solutions l Cryopreservation & Cold Chain Solutions

l Informatics & Technical Solutions l Sample Storage, Lab Services & Transport l Sample Consumables & Instruments

Within the Sample Consumables &

Instruments business Brooks Life Sciences has two key areas; Sample Tube Consumables & Instruments

and PCR/Assay Consumables & Instruments

which are comprised mainly of the FluidX and 4titude product ranges, respectively. The FluidX range offers unparalleled knowledge and experience of 2D-coded sample storage tubes, readers and sample management systems. As part of the team that developed the

original 2D-coded sample tubes in 1999, we have been at the global forefront of developing sample storage consumables and instruments for 20 years and we con- tinue our philosophy of innovation to this day with industry first products such as the IntelliXcap range. Through the 4titude range Brooks Life

Sciences support a vast range of customer applications spanning from research to molecular diagnostics. Brooks Life Sciences continues to develop high quality innova- tive consumables and instruments with a focus on PCR plastics, assay microplates and sealing solutions. PCR, qPCR and sequencing tubes and

plates cover all needs of flexibility and automation, successfully aiming to min- imise wastage of reagents and maximise efficiency. Complementing the PCR range, the assay

and storage microplates support a wide variety of applications, including cell-based content screening and ELISA, fluorescence, luminescence and sample collection. And because every plate and tube requires

a seal, Brooks Life Sciences proudly offers the largest range of sealing solutions on the market, including both adhesive and heat seals, as well as automated and semi-auto- mated microplate sealing instruments. In addition to the innovation behind

these products, we are committed to pro- viding the highest levels of customer ser- vice, support and quality. Our Technical Support Team provides expert assistance, making sure our products give the reliable and optimal performance you expect. We believe that a quality sample is the
