NEW PRODUCT OFFERS A HOMOGENEOUS COMBINATION OF DIFFERENT MINERALS WITHIN

ALL-IN- is a combination of different organic trace minerals designed to offer the feed industry a unique homogenous product. Based on glycine, and relying on a patented technology B-TRAXIM®

EACH PARTICLE B-TRAXIM®

ALL-IN- products contain the same proportion of minerals in every particle.

Mineral Homogeneity in Particles One of the main challenges in feed production is the low inclusion of essentials nutrients like minerals. This inclusion can be so low that distributed feed may not be homogenized and, as a result, animals won’t get all the nutrients they need. As with all products in the B-TRAXIM® range, the use of glycine as a ligand, associated with Pancosma’s unique manufacturing process, provides pure metal glycinates with high levels of trace elements, which are easy to handle, dust- free and provide optimal distribution in premixes and feed.

These criteria are important for the safety of operators and to optimize the quality of the product (limiting contamination, providing better homogeneity of trace elements).

The company claim that their advanced R&D has made it possible to specify the chemical structure of the B-TRAXIM®

range

and demonstrate the stability of the organic bond at different PHs. Strong trial results and publications in all animal species prove superior bioavailability of glycine bound metals vs. inorganic minerals and other organic trace mineral sources.

FUSION®

By using PANCOSMA’s unique ISO- technology (IFT®

) throughout

fabrication, every particle contains a combination of various minerals in the exact same ratio, enabling perfect distribution

and homogeneity in premixes and feed. In collaboration with the Research and Technology Organization CSEM located in Switzerland, it was possible to identify the four different minerals (Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn) in one of the B-TRAXIM®

All-in-

products using powder X-ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy associated with Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX).

The figure below shows that all four metals are present, not only in every particle, but very evenly distributed throughout every single particle.

CARGILL’S NEW SOW FEED PRODUCT PROVIDES PIGLET POWER

Cargill has launched its new sow feed product LivaPig™ in the UK. When added to transition and lactating-sow diets, it has been shown to improve piglet birth weights and reduce the number of stillbirths. In UK trials, where LivaPig was added to the diet, at a 1% inclusion rate, from five to seven days before farrowing and until weaning, the proportion of stillbirths was reduced by 2.4% and birth weights improved. The number of pigs weaned per litter increased by 0.5, resulting in an extra 1.2 pigs per sow per year.

“LivaPig improves piglet livability,” says Cargill UK’s technical pig specialist Maisie Lord. “Pig livability is the proportion of viable piglets a sow can raise based on stillbirths and pre-weaning mortality. “It achieves this by increasing the blood flow and, therefore, oxygen and nutrient supply to the reproductive tissue and to the piglets in utero.”

particle contains a combination of 4 different minerals at the exact same ratio.

A series of tests based on the coefficient of variation confirmed a much lower deviation to the mean with B-TRAXIM®

to traditional blends. Improved Results

While suitable for all species, B-TRAXIM® All-in- is particularly suited to breeding and slaughter yields in poultry, promotes immune response and increases milk quality in ruminants and ensures better bioavailability of metals in other species, such as fish and horses. LivaPig is a blend of exclusive ingredients that uses Cargill’s patented nitric oxide boosting technology, trademarked Proxymum®

. Nitric oxide is

naturally present in blood, and it promotes better blood, nutrient and oxygen flow. It is commonly used in food supplements to support performance.

When fed to sows, LivaPig promotes nitric oxide activity and supports the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the piglet in utero, reducing asphyxia and boosting piglet vitality and birth weight, while decreasing the likelihood of stillborn piglets and pre-weaning mortality.

“Sow productivity continues to increase, and litter sizes are getting larger,” adds Ms Lord. “But the proportion of the litter reaching weaning age is decreasing. Stillborn piglets account for between three and eight percent of total born piglets, and pre-weaning mortality ranges from
