The Care team at Greenhill Manor Care Home in Merthyr Tydfil have built a personal garden area for a resident after she expressed how much she missed tending to her own garden. Wendy McNamara, 85 an enthusiastic member of Greenhill Manor’s gardening forum, expressed how much she missed being able to plant some of the beautiful flowers she regularly purchases when out with her son, in her own garden.
Greenhill Manor’s gardener Rhiannon Lewis and her husband Gareth, who also works at the home, got together and built Wendy a small garden just outside of her bedroom window, which is complete with planters and a table set so Wendy can spend summer afternoons tending to her flowers.
Customer relationship manager at Greenhill Manor, Mitchell Minney said: “It was a fantastic afternoon! Wendy had been looking forward to the unveiling of her new garden and we wanted to make it a special occasion for her to remember. “We invited some of Wendy’s friends and team members from the home to watch her cut the ribbon and we all enjoyed a glass of bubbly after the ceremony was finished.”

The brand itself will retain the bright colours of the previous logo but introduce a sleeker and more modern font and a stand-out “C” as its identifying mark.
The move to Cwmbran Centre also reinforces the shopping centre’s position as the “centre” of the town and the meeting place for the community. The wider roll out of

the brand will see the introduction of the word “your” across its materials, including the website - “your Cwmbran”, “your centre” etc. - acknowledging the pride that people from the Cwmbran area rightly have in their town and integrating the community in the identity of the place itself. Cwmbran Centre boasts some of the UK’s favourite high street names including M&S, House of Fraser, Jack & Jones, TopShop, New Look, River Island and Pandora.
