CONSTRUCTION LESSON AS LOCAL PUPILS VISIT NEW HOMES DEVELOPMENT IN PENPERLLENI

Youngsters from Goytre Fawr Primary School have been learning how new homes are built, thanks to help from local housebuilder David Wilson Homes.

A visit to The Acres in Penperlleni gave pupils an exclusive behind the scenes look at what it takes to construct a new home.

The pupils had a special tour with David Wilson Homes site manager Graham Savage who took them to see some of the materials and machinery that are needed to build a home.

“It was a pleasure to welcome pupils from Goytre Fawr Primary School to visit The Acres. There were a lot of homes at different stages of construction to show the children as well as a few diggers which I think went down particularly well,” said Graham. “Working with the local community is very important to us so it was fitting for local schoolchildren to get a look at the new homes while learning about construction and site safety.”

The visit was a real hit with the children, five year old Dorothy said she liked the fork lift truck because it lifts things up really high and six year old Jamie said the highlight for him was seeing how the roof was made. Site manager Graham also spent time explaining how houses are built and answering questions from pupils.
