Sword & Trowel 2015: Issue 1

contradicted by Genesis 2, but they do not realise or notice that the second chapter (in verse 4) begins a new section of narrative furnishing fuller information than the summary ac- count of creation in the fi rst chapter. When, for example, chapter 2 re- fers to ‘the day’ that God made the earth and the heavens, and ‘every

plant of the fi eld’, the record imme- diately makes it clear that plant life was not made on the same day as the earth and skies. It is foolish to claim that chapter 2 constitutes a revised version of the order of creation. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY IN HYDERABAD, INDIA

News from Pastor Kiran Nalluri Twin Cities Tabernacle, Hyderabad, India

O

VER 190 children attended our Vacation Bible School (VBS) re-

cently. We ran six classes over fi ve days and the theme this year was ‘Amazing Love’ – teaching about the love of Christ in making a way from sin and death to pardon and life. We had four classes in the main church, another on an outside staircase and another in a neighbour’s house. Our teachers devoted the fi ve days for this and were given preparation a week before the VBS. Some of the teachers were younger people converted in our church. Attention to the lessons was generally good but we thank the Lord that we could see particular interest in the messages being shown by some boys and girls from our Sunday School senior classes. Every day we gave snacks and cool drinks and on the fi nal day we served lunch for all the children. Attendances at our services continue

to be encouraging and we pray that our Lord may do great things in the hearts of those who are seeking to fi nd him as their personal Saviour.

Pastor Kiran Nalluri attended the

LRBS course, and is supported by the Tabernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund.

Lessons for Life books in Telugu are distributed to many Sunday Schools in India along with take-home sheets. The visual aids will soon be available electronically for display on tablets and laptops.
