Sword & Trowel 2015: Issue 1

It is the popularity among the local population that has kept it going with the radio station for such a long time. It is on the internet as well and, although it is in the local language, there are people as far as the USA and London who listen. I continue to visit the studio each Monday and record seven pro- grammes for the week. We still have the opportunity to air our services at least once at month on a Sunday morn- ing from 10am. Whenever another church defaults we get to air two ser- vices a month. We look forward to the visit of Pas- tor Ibrahim in October. He will speak at our conference from the fi rst two chapters of Philippians. Four churches will be invited and people from other churches will be coming. It will be held at Pastor Scholar’s church and we expect to have over two hundred in attendance. Pastor Samuel studied at the LRBS from 1992-94 and is supported by the Tabernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund (see page 25 for details).

1. An adult doctrine class led by Pastor Samuel. ‘Graduates’ go on to help with local visitation and contact work. 2. A summer Bible School for children in Anse-la-Raye.

3. Recording radio programmes in the local French Creole which is still widely spoken in St Lucia, particularly among the older generation and in rural areas. 4. A teenage Bible class in Anse-la-Raye. 5. Perimeter walls being laid on the new site near the capital Castries. Once the new building has been erected the current building in Anse-la-Raye will be used for a branch Sunday School.

6. The Saturday outreach bookstall in Castries which has been running for the last 8 years.
