NEW CHURCH PLANS APPROVED

News from Pastor Peter Samuel, Patience Baptist Church, Anse-la-Raye, St Lucia, Windward Isles

I

AM pleased to let you know that the plans for our new church building on the outskirts of Castries (the capital) have been approved. Thank you for all your prayers on our behalf. We have started preparatory work on

retaining walls where the site has been levelled, in order to install a perimeter fence for security. We hope to have this in place by the end of October. Taking account of the Christmas and New Year activities and holiday, we plan to start working on the founda- tions in early January 2016. Please pray that everything will work out well for us and that we will be able to get the building to a stage where we can start holding services there as soon as pos- sible. I think we are ready to take the Gospel to the city. We are so very full on Sunday morn- ings that we just do not have space to accommodate all the members and visitors. The good thing is, many of the visitors keep coming back and since the majority of them are from the capital, they spend the entire day with us so they get an opportunity to hear the Gospel in the evening. Upstairs is packed during Sunday lunch and if more people want to stay we will have a problem. We have just over 30 members and

we are thankful to God that we usually have about 20 attending our weekly

prayer meeting. One of our members is presently doing the LRBS online course and should complete it next year. He is very zealous and currently is involved in Sunday School and also helps in Friday night children’s meet- ings and the Saturday bookstall in Castries.

The daily radio programme contin- ues to receive a good listening audience and we are very thankful to God for that opportunity to share the Gospel in the length and breadth of the country.
