Richmond Plant Hire drives forward with LCVT

Richmond Plant Hire, which has depots in Newark and Kirby in Ashfield, reports that it is delighted with the 3.5-tonne Fiat-based low floor vehicle it bought last year from LCVT (Light Commercial Vehicle Technology). Based on the Fiat Ducato 2.3-litre chassis cab, it has a 3,800mm

body with a spring-assisted tailgate to facilitate the loading and delivery of equipment like light plant, bowsers, fencing and dumpers. Dave Denby, Richmond Plant Hire’s General Manager, said,

“We have found it to be a resounding success. The combination of payload and floor height means we can deliver far more equipment on the vehicle than our traditional dropside truck, and our drivers love being able to load more quickly and safely, which is key for us.”
