1018 Latest products HSS adds Hilti lasers

HSS is now offering models from Hilti’s rotating lasers range. They are designed to be rugged enough to remain accurate after a knock and to be simple to operate. The manufacturer launched its rotating

laser line-up in 2014 and the range now includes the PR 30-HVSG, the PR 2-HS and the PR 300-HV2S. They can measure specific points on a vertical, horizontal and dual-grade axis within a radius of 300m and can be operated by two or three buttons. They are also designed to survive drops from a height of 1.5m, typically the elevation of an operational tripod. The laser head itself is protected by rubber elements, and is housed in gypsum, a material

which hardens on impact and offers further protection against shocks. The instruments are also designed to prevent water and dust getting into the body of the laser, and a special system shuts down the machine if its beam slips out of accuracy parameters. HSS offers nationwide availability of these three Hilti rotating lasers through its network of

225 locations. Hilti GB Key Account Manager, Stewart Dowling, said, “We have a data analyst working closely with HSS to identify trends of which lasers are being successful in which locations, to generate business and identify gaps. As needs develop and the market grows, we will look at where to go next with our range and involve HSS in new-product development.”

Leica’s seamless solution

Leica Geosystems states that simplified and connected solutions for increasing staff productivity on site and unifying design data for seamless workflows are essential to keep margin gains and generate profits. The manufacturer’s solution

for heavy construction applications offers a unified hardware platform, the

MCP80, with a common software interface, the MC1, across its machine control portfolio. Interchangeable between several machines in this class, the MCP80 control unit integrates into the MC1 program, while Leica says its ConX, a cloud-based and user-friendly productivity platform for increased project efficiency, rounds off its goal to achieve a digitised construction site.
