Off Grid goes underground
Off Grid Energy recently installed its largest and most powerful temporary power hybrid unit at Kennington Tube station in London. The company has supplied its gridtogo battery storage solution, with a power output of 195kVA, while four new customer passageways are being built. The system is designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and lower noise levels near a residential location, and has a storage capacity of 350kW/hrs.
Makita’s power quartet
Makita’s four-model range of petrol generators are powered by heavy-duty OHV 4-stroke engines complying with Euro 2 exhaust emissions. They are mounted in a robust tubular steel carry frame, with the two highest output models also fitted with transport wheels and handles. All provide two 240V AC outlet sockets and a single 12V DC output socket. The EG2250A and EG2850A have a 15-litre capacity fuel tank and are powered by a 210cc
engine with a recoil starter. The base model will generate maximum AC output of 2.2kVA at 50Hz, with the EG2850A delivering 2.8kVA. The EG4550A (pictured) and EG5550A have 25-litre fuel tanks with a 420cc engine and both recoil and electric start, producing 4.5kVA and 5.5kVA respectively.
