News Wernick expands though

acquisition Wernick Power Solutions has announced the purchase of generator specialists, Anderson Engineering Ltd. This latest move solidifies Wernick’s position within the Scottish temporary power market, and it will significantly increase its presence in the aquaculture sector on the west coast. Anderson Engineering is a key player on the west coast of Scotland,

having established a strong reputation for serving the fish farm and marine sectors. The expertise and reputation, built up over the years by Ian and Donald Anderson, will prove invaluable in Wernick’s ability to drive forward in this sector. Donald and Ian’s senior salesman, Kenny Law, has also been key in developing the existing client relationships. Commenting on the purchase, Wernick Chairman David Wernick said:

“We are delighted with this acquisition and by the end of this month, all operations of Anderson Engineering will seamlessly transition to our Glasgow depot. This strategic move enhances our collective abilities, improves our knowledge base and unites two companies and two families that value service excellence above all else for their customers.” For his part, Donald Anderson added: “The business has grown rapidly

since its foundation in 2008 but to continue that success we needed more resources and the support of a larger organisation. In Wernick we have found the perfect partner - a very successful family business with shared values and culture, strong leadership and crucially the expertise and resources to make it happen.”

Armorgard has site

data sorted Estimable suppliers of storage solutions and other robust site equipment, Armorgard has now moved into the infotech space with the launch of the brand new ‘DataStation’. This is compact, eminently moveable and reliably sturdy

unit is freshly launched. In terms of functionality, it packs a great deal into what otherwise looks like a big metal wardrobe on wheels. The key benefits begin with its construction, being built

to the same tough standards as the company’s well- regarded range of site storage boxes. Five-lever deadlocks are also included, to keep the equipment inside secure.

Speaking of which, users will find a 43-inch digital

screen fitted as standard – a touchscreen is an optional extra – allowing users to study plans, engage in online meetings and other site comms as required. Further conveniences include LED lighting, a capacious compartment beneath the desk area, internal sockets, crane lifting eyes and door stays to prevent inopportune slams. The doors themselves are also fitted with a document holder and a useful whiteboard. See the new DataStation and the full range of site and welfare products at https://www.armorgard.co.uk.

Komatsu launches battery digger Komatsu Europe has announced the PC33E-6 - its new 3-tonne class excavator, which is

powered by a lithium-ion battery. Drawing upon over a century of expertise in design, development and manufacturing, Komatsu

regards the introduction of its new model as a springboard for the development of a market for other small electric construction machinery. The launch is also a component of its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. “The PC33E-6 features large capacity batteries and a highly efficient powerline, enabling

most customers to work non-stop for a full shift before having to recharge. Thanks to a lightning-fast charging system, downtime is significantly reduced, allowing for increased productivity and efficiency on the job site,” explained Group Manager Utility, Emanuele Viel. The PC33E-6 comes with Komatsu’s introductory E-support customer program, including a 3-year maintenance plan, full machine warranty, and a 5-year parts warranty covering the high-value electrical powertrain components. Other highlights include low noise and vibration, high torque from the permanent magnet motor,

a 35kWh Li-Ion battery, a high comfort air suspended seat, a new 3.5” LCD monitor and fast ‘lunch break’ charging. It's a nice-looking machine for our money, too.
