upgrades kit Re-branded as ‘SAVER’, the latest iteration of its popular fall arrest block promises more than the average product re-release. The obvious visual difference between
the old and new versions is that the label design has been thoroughly modernised. Labelling now includes easy-to-understand pictograms, improving the user experience and the ability to understand how to use the equipment correctly – regardless of language. Extensive modification of internal parts has resulted in better performance and compliance with the tougher requirements of the latest versions of ANSI/ASSP and EN 360. The anchorage connection point has been redesigned to allow off-the-shelf snap hooks/karabiners to be utilised. Also, the lifeline’s shock absorber spring has been replaced with a rubber stopper, which has less recoil upon impact and will fare better in corrosive environments. These developments have enabled the SAVER to
meet or surpass multiple standards. Namely, ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021, CSA Z259.2.2-2017, AS-NZS1891.3-2020, EN1496:2006 Class B and EN 360 (2022).
Plantool expands LGMG
fleet Plantool Hire Centres has opened a big new depot and is taking the opportunity to invest in larger equipment to suit. The latest addition to its growing powered access fleet is the 15.08m maximum
working height LGMG AS1413E electric scissor lift, which was supplied by Access Platform Sales (APS). The company itself operates six depots across the central and East Midlands regions, and it has just moved its Warwick operation to more spacious and modern premises on the town's Heathcote industrial estate. “It’s exciting to now have the capacity to scale up our powered access offer with
the purchase of bigger LGMG scissor lifts,” said Plantool Director Ben Jones. “Our LGMG platforms are very popular with customers, and they're designed to be easy for rental specialists like us to maintain, so I’m very glad to take them.” Plantool currently operates three LGMG electrical scissor lift models – the
LGMG AS0607E, the AS1212E and the AS1413E, all of which can be operated indoors and outdoors. The AS0607E has a maximum working height of 7.8m and its platform has a capacity of 230kg; the AS1212E has a maximum working height of 12m and a 230kg capacity; and the S1413E has a lift capacity of 320kg. All three scissor lifts have direct drive electric motors that contribute to longer
battery life and minimise hydraulic oil spill risk, and proportional drive and lift controls for smoother, more precise operation. They also share the same operating system, so Plantool Hire Centre customers can switch between platforms with ease.
