Yanmar sees red The new Yanmar SV15VT excavator is designed to excel in the toughest environments. With a Stage V 3-cylinder indirect injection engine from Yanmar’s TNV series, the diminutive machine combines impressive efficiencies with low fuel consumption. Topline features include a double gear pump
hydraulic system delivering a flow of 28 l/min at a maximum 205 bar pressure, a digging force of 7.4kN (short arm) and 12.9kN (bucket), while also coming with a standard auxiliary hydraulic line to power breakers or augers. A novel track frame featuring three bottom rollers and a variable undercarriage (980-1,170mm), ensures versatility and a comfortable ride for the operator. The SV15VT has compact dimensions and
weighs just 1,465kg/1,555kg (canopy/cabin), meaning it can be easily towed between sites on a standard 2.5 tonne GVW trailer. Four tie-down points on the track frames (standard) and four on the turning frame (optional) make preparation simple. As with every Yanmar model, the SV15VT has been designed with
maximum safety in mind. Alongside ROPS, TOPS and FOPS certification for both the canopy and cabin variants, operators benefit from 360° visibility, LED work lights and an orange seatbelt as standard. Optional extras include a seatbelt sensor, flashing green beacon, travel alarms and
a polycarbonate protective shield for the canopy model. Thanks to a wide engine compartment hood design, as well as
easy to disassemble side panels and cabin floor, operators have instant access to the powertrain, hydraulic components, fuel/hydraulic tanks and the radiator. The battery and fuse box are located in a lockable compartment under the operator’s seat to maximise security.
Illumin8 lights up Site lighting specialists, Illumin8 Lights is meeting a demand for brighter site lighting, with the purchase of 36 lighting towers from Trime UK.
Illumin8 has opted for Trime’s X-ECO LITHIUM towers, which can be fully recharged in less than two hours. This means that in a ten-hour
cycle, for 80% of operation, the X- ECO HYBRID LITHIUM is powered by its batteries alone. The six energy saving LED lamps are able to light an area of over 3,000sqm. Illumin8’s lighting sets are fitted with
solar panels, which aids battery charging and makes the towers three times more efficient than equivalent hybrid equipment. In addition, Illumin8 has fitted an advanced tracking system to its entire fleet. They can see, via a connected device, the actual location of each unit and enables engineers to complete basic checks such as low oil, low fuel and low battery levels. “Our overriding aim is to develop the
most sustainable fleet of tower lights, hence our decision to invest in these X-ECO LITHIUM sets,” said Illumin8 MD Neil Fenwick. “We believe that we have one of the
newest and largest fleet of lighting towers. The event side of our business is quickly getting back to pre-pandemic levels, and alongside the large increase in demand for lighting from our construction, utility and rail clients, make us very optimistic for 2022 and beyond.”
