connected STIHL has enhanced its fleet management solution, ‘STIHL Connected’, with the introduction of the new Smart Connector 2 A, an updated App and the Pro Portal, enabling hire companies to obtain new levels of machinery performance data and fleet management efficiencies. The original STIHL Smart
Connector can be used across all STIHL tools, as well as other manufacturers’ equipment. On STIHL tools, it uses the logged operating time to suggest machine checks and maintenance tasks, while these can be input into the system for other manufacturer machines. This data can help hire companies keep track of working time for machines to optimise their hire fleet. The Smart Connector 2 A is designed for a growing range of
professional STIHL cordless machines. The information relayed includes operating time, working speeds, the status on individual electronic components, ambient temperature and also messages about the status of the machine. The device also features a clock, meaning hire companies can see when and for how long a machine
Stihl gets
was used. A simple press of the button on the Smart Connector 2 A gives an indication of machine status, displaying green if its maintenance is up-to-date or red if a fault has been detected. All of the machinery data is available on the STIHL Connected app
or on the desktop portal. Compatible STIHL equipment includes all 135 models (HLA, FSA, KMA, HTA), RGA 140, the latest HSA 94 R, HSA 94 T versions, with more machines coming in 2022.
Adaptable offerings from New Holland
As well as manufacturing machinery for agricultural applications, New Holland also makes a range mini crawler excavators from 1.7 to 6 tonnes. With a choice of canopy, cab and short radius zero tail swing versions, all models are well suited to landscaping, amenity work, horticulture, estate management and general contracting. With the Object Handling Kit installed, all machines
can be used to raise heavy suspended loads using a lifting hook on the bucket linkage. All machines have a Stage V-compliant power unit selected to match their size and capacity. This ensures optimised performance and fuel economy. To further enhance this, the E37C, E57C and E60C excavators are fitted with an Auto-idle function. Compact dimensions throughout the range enable
access to difficult work areas, while each model has class-leading performance with the versatility to power a wide range of hydraulically-powered attachments, including augers, flail hedge and verge mowers, cutterbars, shears, breakers and stump grinders.
