Ace Plant: Quickspray
MILTON Keynes-based specialist hire company Ace Plant provide a wide range of dust suppression units with attachments such as splash plates, rain guns, road wash systems, pressure washers and their innovative, F1 inspired, carbon fibre, spinning disc water applicators.
Their impressive dust suppression range also includes the Quickspray, which lately won the seal of approval from a Council who were investigating options for dealing with dust at their new 5,000m2 road waste transfer depot. Home to the storage and handling of road plainings and various aggregates, this highway’s location has close neighbours.
Due to the size and nature of the depot, a specialist dust suppression application was required to cater for a range of needs on site ‒ large open areas as well as smaller intricate spaces ‒ to prevent dust from the site affecting its nearby neighbours.
Ace Plant provided the Quickspray Dust Suppression Unit for the Council to test, which can easily be used by existing fleet machinery. Using the built-in fork sleeves of the Quickspray, the Council’s own JCB417 loader could be utilised. Powered by third service hydraulics, the Quickspray is fitted with a hydraulically driven carbon fibre spinning disc which atomises water into a fine mist ‒ trapping airborne and surface dust.
The trial was a great success with the unit proving to be very capable in terms of area coverage, effectiveness and efficient water usage. Soon the Council put in an order for the item painted in their own fetching colour ‒ RAL4006 Traffic Purple!
