tress and mental health are high on the agenda in the healthcare industry, with NHS statistics showing that psychological issues accounted for a quarter of all staff absences in 2018.
And this is costing the service £300m- 400m a year.

stress, anxiety or depression. But nurses made up only 40% of the NHS workers who required time off because of stress. Back-office staff are also feeling the strain.
Designing for life However, there is some good news. Simple physical changes in the
workspace can have a significant effect on mental wellbeing. Speaking to hdm, Michel Spruijt, general manager at workplace equipment manufacturer, Ergotron, explains: “Figuring out if workspaces, or equipment, or both, are having a positive or negative effect on wellbeing is often an overlooked aspect of workforce management.
