BMB appoints new CEO G

Max Banner, effective from September 4. He will replace Nigel Plenderleith who is retiring at the end of the year. Mr Plenderleith will be supporting Mr Leech on a full time basis until the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition. Mr Leech will also be working closely with other members of the BMB board and management team to continue to deliver the highest standards of customer service. Mr Leech is no stranger to the school and education sector having been managing director of Connect Education & Care from August 2013, until the sale of the business to RM Group in June 2017. Glenn Leech

Industry News BTC

“When MML invested in the management buyout of BMB in July 2015 it was Nigelʼs desire that a succession plan be put into place to allow him to retire from the business in 2018. “Under Nigelʼs stewardship the business has grown in many dimensions. Through the acquisitions of SWI and Orion, BMB now has market leading ranges in sportswear as well as a dedicated product

development team. Customer service levels, already leading the market, have been enhanced.

“We would like to thank Nigel for the dedication, enthusiasm and hard work in leading the business both in the last two years and also for the 12 years prior to the MML investment.

“This continues to be an exciting time for the company with Glennʼs appointment, new branding and a new website to be launched at the Schoolwear Show in October along with many great new products.”

Cottonridge strengthens foothold in Europe W

ith its diverse range of hoodies, sweatshirts and T shirts, and passionate commitment to

outstanding quality, the Cottonridge brand was well received in the European market from the outset, particularly by print shops looking to offer their customers something a little different.

Now Cottonridge is capitalising on this brilliant response, with the optimisation of online services for international customers, and new account managers for Germany and France.

With the introduction of the German website and sales team in early 2016, sales in Germany have experienced incredible growth. Now Cottonridge looks to recreate this success with the introduction of a new website in autumn 2017 to reach out to customers in France, where the company has already developed a strong customer base. This excellent reception in two key European markets, together with encouraging organic growth in the Netherlands, Southern Europe and Scandinavian, would suggest a very bright future for Cottonridge in Europe.

P&P editor and her sister raise more than £900 for SERV Norfolk

P

&P editor Melanie Attlesey and her sister Sarah completed the Run Norwich 10k on Sunday, August 6 raising more than £900 for SERV Norfolk.

SERV Norfolk is a charity run by volunteers that transports blood, plasma, platelets, samples, vaccines, factor VIII, donor breast milk and any other urgently required medical items to hospitals – at night, daytime weekends and bank holidays all on motorbikes. This service is provided completely free of charge, allowing the NHS to divert funds where they are needed most.

It costs thousands of pounds each month to keep the charityʼs fleet of motorbikes on the road and as SERV survives solely on donations, every little helps.

Melanie said: “Our dad Robin has volunteered for this charity for the last five years, so my sister and I were only more than happy to run 10k to help raise some vital funds. We are over the moon with how much we have raised and would like to thank all of our sponsors.”
