New Brother GTX looks set to shake up the DTG industry
T
he GTX printer is the next generation DTG printer from Brother offering faster, one- press printing capabilities. Its industrial print heads, developed by Brother, contain 1680 nozzles per print head. This allows for prints at
1200x1200dpi in a single pass resulting in high quality prints at mass production level speed, making it up to three times faster than the previous GT-381 model. The GTXʼs new design stacks the white print head behind the CMYK so when the platen comes out, the design is fully printed. The print driver can be set to pause for a specified
length of time between the laydown of the white underbase and colours. This allows for the printing of traditionally difficult fabrics that absorb more ink.
GTX
Users will experience less maintenance and downtime due to nozzles clogging with the new white ink circulation system, which keeps the white ink in suspension. The new wet capping station also helps eliminate the ink from drying on the bottom of the nozzle plate.
Brother has also released Graphix Lab, a new printing software that comes free of charge with the GTX. Users will be able to import artwork, add text, rotate/ size/ position elements and apply artistic effects. Both Graphix Lab and the GTX print driver are available for Mac and PC operating systems.
Another plus that increases this new
machineʼs ROI is the ability to print larger designs on
a wide range of
substrates. The print area is a generous 16x21in, the largest of any Brother DTG
Innobella ink pouch
machine. As with earlier models, Brother created the GTX print heads to have a large print head-to- substrate gap, that makes it easier than ever to print over seams, pockets, zippers and other challenging products with a maximum thickness of 30mm. In addition to shirts, the GTX can be used to decorate a variety of headwear, shoes, tote bags and bulky apparel such as hoodies and jackets.
Brother DTG has also released a new ink system with the GTX printer. Innobella Textile water-based pigment inks have a larger colour gamut, a very high washability (approved by the AATCC) and are Oeko-Tex Eco-Passport certified and CPSIA compliant.
Brother DTG stands behind its new GTX with a one-year warranty including print heads. John Potter, managing director of MHM Direct GB which is distributing the new printer, said it really is a game changer.

Resolute DTG launches its first iGroup licensed product manufactured in the UK
A
version of the popular Viper XPT 1000 automatic pre-treatment machine is now available in the UK through Resolute DTG.
Resoluteʼs recent agreement with iGroup means a licensed version of this machine is now available in the UK. Using the same technology Resolute is building the units to UK specification. Resoluteʼs RDT 1000 is scalable allowing a larger area to be pre-treated when printing flat fabric panels on the R-Jet 6 Industrial DTG system.
Having one of the largest printable areas is no use without the ability to pre-treat the flat fabric, when researched it was apparent there is no other scalable pre-treatment machine on
the market. The RDT 1000 is available in two models, one with analogue controls and the RDT 1000i which has touch screen controls with added features.
Operation and maintenance on the
RDT 1000 has been kept very simple, the machine has three fluid input points used for pre-treatment, flushing solution and water. This makes operation and maintenance very quick and easy.

the UK and the Diamond branding will cease with immediate effect.
