lobal e-commerce company, Spreadshirt, has added 45 brand new Brother GTX digital printing machines across its five production sites in the US and Europe.

This state-of-the-art technology allows Spreadshirt to produce and ship all must-have gifts with ease, even during busier periods. Jürgen Gauger, COO of Spreadshirt, said: “We invested $1.4M into the Brother GTX printers and we are excited about the implementation of these machines. There are now 14 being used throughout our U.S. production facilities in Henderson, NV and Greensburg, PA. In these facilities, 75% of all designs are currently printed using the digital machines. We are planning to increase the digital direct printing share to nearly 100% in the future.” The remaining 31 machines have been installed in Legnica, Poland, Krupka, Czech Republic and Leipzig, Germany.

The addition of the 45 digital direct machines and superior technological advancements, puts Spreadshirt in a good position to manage future growth, accelerate production, and speed up orders to arrive at the customerʼs doorstep at an even faster rate.

Spreadshirt knows that winning the market share in the global e-commerce market is a direct result of fast turnaround of customer orders and rapid delivery of high quality products.

The Make it British Forum panel discussion

Kate Hills, CEO and founder of Make it British, said: “Honesty, transparency, integrity and being true to yourself – thatʼs what makes a British brand. Undoubtedly the key benefits of making in Britain are the convenience and speed of manufacturing in the UK. Weʼre seeing lots of new brands opting to ensure the Made in Britain label is part of their DNA and thereʼs a trend for big brands to re-shore. There is definitely power in brand British.”

The sell-out event also attracted an online audience who could pose their questions to the panel of speakers as it was streamed live from Manchester Metropolitan University. Hailed a success, it paves the way for more regional forums across the UK in 2018 alongside the annual Meet the Manufacturer event in London in May.
