The Schoolwear Show Preview

Back to school? Back to the Schoolwear show

The Schoolwear Show is returning to the Cranmore Business Park in Solihull on October 12 and 13, with organisers inviting members of the industry to be part of the new-look exhibition. As a preview, assistant editor Benjamin Austin posed a series of questions to the event’s director, Mark Woolgar, to find out more.

With dedicated networking areas and an inclusive environment, the show provides a space where both established names and new entrants feel supported. The overall atmosphere is one of positivity, professionalism, and partnership – an industry coming together to shape the future of schoolwear.

Q. How many exhibitors are attending? A. Exhibitor numbers are on the rise this year, a sign of the schoolwear sector’s optimism and drive to keep evolving. As well as welcoming back many familiar names, the show will see several first-time exhibitors bringing fresh perspectives, innovative products, and new energy to the event.

There will be a number of seminars at the show

Q. What is on offer at this year’s show? A. This year, visitors and exhibitors will notice a fresh new look at Cranmore Park. The venue has undergone a significant update to its stand build, offering a more modern, open, and accessible layout. The redesign enhances visibility for exhibitors and improves the overall visitor flow, making it easier to navigate the show and engage with brands. And because the best ideas often come over a drink rather than a desk, the show will once again host a relaxed drinks social at the end of the day on Sunday. It’s a chance for exhibitors and visitors to unwind, catch up informally, and strengthen those industry connections in a more laid-back setting.

More than anything, the show is about that unique energy you get when the entire industry is under one roof. It’s where retailers, suppliers, and manufacturers can trade insights, explore new opportunities, and leave with a clearer vision for the year ahead. In 2025, that sense of connection, and the momentum it builds, will be the real highlight.

Q. What sort of atmosphere could visitors expect? A. The show offers visitors a professional yet welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the sector. It is an event created by the industry, for the industry, and that sense of community is evident throughout the show. Exhibitors are eager to showcase innovation, discuss challenges, and share solutions, while the seminar programme encourages open conversation on the key issues facing schoolwear today.

Q. How do you help address retailers’ recent concerns around schoolwear? A. We understand that retailers are facing real challenges, from rising costs and supply chain pressures to the impact of new government guidance. The Schoolwear Show is here to provide practical support and reassurance. By bringing the widest range of suppliers and services together under one roof, we give retailers genuine choice and the opportunity to compare products and pricing that work for their businesses. The show also highlights innovation – whether it’s in sustainable fabrics, embroidery and personalisation technology, or smarter stock management systems, that can help retailers adapt and stay competitive. Our seminar programme is designed to tackle the issues keeping retailers awake at night, offering expert insight on

A variety of known brands will be on display
