Kingly celebrates International Children’s Day
I
n celebration of International Children’s Day, Kingly has organised a special event for the kids from the private kindergarten “Gianni Rodari” in Sofi a, Bulgaria. The kids and their teachers were welcomed by sock puppets created by our embroidery expert Nelya Moroz. The characters encouraged everyone to sing and dance. “It takes a team of people working together to make something happen. Our designers create the image, our production managers organise the order. Our production workers make the product. Our transport manager sends it to the customer,” said Rob Armour, founder of Kingly. He emphasised the
fact that it takes 20,000 litres of water is used to cultivate one kilo of cotton. The kids had the chance to touch a sprig of natural cotton and some cotton bobbins used in the sock manufacturing process. The kids also had the chance to see how a t shirt is printed and even try to do it themselves with the help of Katya, our DTG expert. The kids received aprons to help their parents cook fresh and healthy recipes.
Among the gifts that kids received were DTG-printed t shirts and bags with our latest book that explains the 101 uses of a sock, and a leafl et with important information on what the kids have learned that day.
strategy; adopting a Great Place to Work philosophy and developing a best practice approach to ESG Governance. To support their ambitious ESG programme, Mi Hub has formed Mi ESG Hub; a group of colleagues from all areas of the business including HR, supply chain, marketing, facilities, commercial and the logistic centre. The dedicated project team is working to achieve the four pillars and will hold Mi Hub accountable to maintain, achieve and launch all the initiatives against the ESG programme. This will be achieved by developing relationships, skills and knowledge with their internal staff and external suppliers and by building a sustainable supply base, through their programmes.
Mimaki introduces new innovations
M
imaki Europe has announced the introduction of two technologies at ITMA 2023: a Textile Pigment Transfer Printing System and the Neo-Chromato Process. “Traditionally, the dyeing process for natural fi bres generates an alarming amount of wastewater – around 2 billion tonnes every day in the pre- and post- dyeing processes worldwide - and contributes greatly to CO2 emissions,” said Arjen Evertse, generalmanager Sales, Mimaki Europe. “In addition, the dyeing process is complicated in terms of equipment structure and process and often, overseas transportation of textile products from the main textile-producing countries also emits CO2. “The Textile Pigment Transfer Printing System minimises water usage and simplifi es the printing workfl ow. Additionally, its compact size and affordability allow small lot textile production to be implemented locally, leading to signifi cantly reduced environmental impact.”
