fter nearly three and a half years and much anticipation, covid travel


restrictions were finally lifted (more or less), meaning our buying team at Chadwick Teamwear received the green light to return to China to visit all of our key suppliers once again.


The ability to meet suppliers face to face cannot be underestimated and it was great to see our Chinese office colleagues in the flesh after so long – it was refreshing to put away Zoom and WeChat for a few days. Having touched down in Shanghai, it was good to see the city had not lost all its eastern charm, with its famous street food, endless traffic jams and vast choice of shopping. The team were pleasantly surprised how the city had improved over the lockdown period, demonstrating Chinese efficiency is alive and kicking once again.


Why do we travel to China? The team headed back west from Shanghai inland by high-speed train for the first of more than a dozen meetings during the 12-day long trip. This followed by a short plane ride back to the coast in the industrial southeast of China where the weather is generally warm or simply just hot
