Case Study

From desktop to industry domain: The story of Sticker Wizard’s rise

Sometimes in business all it takes is the right idea at the right time, but this also has to be backed by the right investments. This case study highlights how Sticker Wizard has grown from a desktop business to a large operation with investments into Roland DG technology.

T

he COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the UK business landscape, sparking a surge in entrepreneurship. The number of UK start-ups grew by 22% during the pandemic, with four in five firms reporting no plans to wind down.

According to a joint report by CBI Economics and NatWest Group, these businesses are also 20% more likely to embrace sustainability than their predecessors, potentially adding more than £20 billion to the UK economy in the years ahead.

Against this backdrop, Sticker Wizard emerged as one of the many success stories born in lockdown. He continued: “The BN-20 was brilliant to start with, but I quickly realised I needed something bigger and faster. The VS-300i gave me that flexibility.”

“Suddenly I could take on more complex briefs and deliver them at the

quality and speed clients expected. It was the machine that gave me the confidence to say yes to bigger projects.”

As Sticker Wizard’s client list grew to include design agencies and global brands, so too did the demand for unique materials and finishes. Chris invested into UV technology opting again to work with Roland DG acquiring a VersaUV LEC2-330 UV printer/cutter.

He continued: “Anything

quirky – chrome, fluorescent, specialty vinyl – goes straight through the UV printer.

“It gives me confidence that no matter how demanding the brief, I can reproduce colours and finishes exactly as clients expect.”
