Football fan experience enhanced with Avery Dennison NFC technology

very Dennison has enhanced the football fan experience by


creating the first NFC-enabled shirt and logo.


The adhesive materials expert has worked with Turkish club Trabzonspor bring an interactive way to experience the sport.


Thanks to the Near Field


Communication (NFC) built within the shirt’s logo, fans can scan the jersey to unlock exclusive content, including first looks at new player signings, personalised messages from their favourite players and interactive polls to vote on future jersey fonts and bus wraps.

Funda Daıstanlı, deputy general manager at Trabzonspor, said: “There were so many ideas in my head about what we could do with NFC, and it made me incredibly excited. The fact that NFC is a new form of communication, one that hasn’t been used anywhere else in the world in this way, was also really appreciated by our fans.


“NFC technology will definitely become a new communication channel in the sports apparel industry.”


This technology transforms the traditional fan experience into a dynamic, interactive journey, offering endless possibilities for engagement.

Epson Europe accelerates toward net-zero Wilcom launches latest in flagship embroidery software


The company’s decarbonisation strategy has received official validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The company is expanding circular manufacturing across Europe through Epson Atmix, supplying high-quality recycled metal powders while reducing reliance on raw materials. Epson has also earned EcoVadis Platinum status and been named a sustainability leader in Quocirca’s 2024

Boris Manev, CSR director at Epson Europe, said: “Sustainability is a journey, and we’re leading with innovation, collaboration, and accountability. “From circular manufacturing to water- saving digital printing, Epson is shaping a future where growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.” The company is also cutting supply chain emissions by up to 82% through low-carbon shipping and direct delivery models. Technologies like the Monna Lisa digital printer reduce water use by up to 97% in textile production, supporting on-demand, waste-free manufacturing.
